The World's Best Summer Job?
We're a little biased, but we think working on a fishing boat in Alaska is the world's best summer job. It was certainly the best one we ever had.
Working in scenery and a scale of geography that blows your mind every day. Meeting real physical and mental challenges. Learning what it really means to be part of a team. These are some of the things you'll experience on a commercial fishing boat in Alaska.
And the best news? The summertime salmon fishing seasons of Alaska - and the thousands of entry-level opportunities they create - all happen between the end of spring quarter and the beginning of fall quarter.
Every May and June - in fishing ports from Seattle, Washington to Faslse Pass, Alaska - skippers and crews prepare for another season catching all five species of the legendary salmon of Alaska. Most of those salmon runs are all wrapped up by the time school starts again. Then the crews go home with good money in their pockets and a lot of stories to tell. Many of which are actually true!
